Electronically Commutated Motors
With permanent magnets instead of induction coils, they consume 40% less electricity to do the same job as shaded pole and permanent split capacitor motors with induction-coil technology. 
With Electronic Speed Control, the motor will slow down whenever the compressor is off and speed up when the compressor turns on again. This maintains the temperature drop across the coil without wasting power.

Integrated Variable Speed Control
Many RTUs consume about three times as much energy as they need to. Programmable Integrated Electronic Control
Paired with an Electronically Commutated Motor (see above), programmable integrated electronic control lets you maintain a specific airflow speed (as measured in cubic feet per minute) while cutting power consumption by more than half.
